Pimsleur, Living Language, Inglés Sin Barreras, and other courses are available for check out at all locations. Offerings include English courses. Instructional books and materials in many languages are also available at all locations. These materials check out for 28 days (some older materials are also available as audiocassettes).

Books and audiobooks in a variety of international languages and for learning English are available for check out. Where possible, the offerings in a given language include popular and literary fiction and nonfiction as well as instructional material. These items check out for 28 days.

ONLINE
Mango Languages via our online database collection. Mango's unique teaching method quickly engages you in real conversations between two native speakers. The database currently offers Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish, plus three English courses. If you have an active City Library card, choose the "Research Center" link from our main menu, then choose "Search Databases" and pick Mango from the list.

World Book Online's Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazagos is the optimal beginner's Spanish language reference tool. The redesigned site offers World Book's excellent editorial content, rich media, and engaging features in Spanish.

Public domain FSI (Foreign Service Institure) Language Courses are available via the "Research Center" link on our main menu (choose "Great Web Sites"), or directly at www.fsi-language-courses.org. Coverage includes some languages not easily found elsewhere.

Forvo is a useful site for learning how to pronounce words and expressions in a variety of languages, including English.
